The Committee Meeting on November 2, 2011

Topics of Discussion:

  1. Scorecards Being Turned In:

Scorecards have to be turned in, "in a timely manner".  We are experiencing longer and

longer waits for Official Scorecards to be turned in.

Here are a few things which can be done to eliminate this problem:

         Fill in the scorecards hole-by-hole,

do not wait until the end of the round to fill in the 18 hole scores

After walking off your last hole the group should drive their golf carts to a safe area and

               finish & sign all scorecards

Turn them in before driving out to your car

If you give your scorecard to someone else to turn in for you, and they don't turn it in on

time, or they lose it, you could still be disqualified (DQ'ed).

  1. Slow Players:

If you are cited for slow play you will receive a "Warning Letter".
If you are cited for a second time you will be suspended for two (2) tournaments.

Which 2 tournaments will be decided by The Committee.

If you are cited for a third time you will be suspended for one (1) year,  After that

time you may apply to The Committee for re-instatement.

  1. Etiquette; Behavior on the Golf Course:

This can be found in the first three (3) sections of The Rules of Golf.

Although they are not spelled out, the following are some examples of

            "Breach of Etiquette":

Dis-respect to other golfers: club throwing or slamming, continuous loud & profuse

language or profanity, slow play, hitting into the group in front of you, etc.

Dis-respect to the Golf Course, not raking bunkers, driving golf carts onto restricted areas

or too close to greens or tees, replacing divots, etc.

These are all breaches and penalty for first offense you can be "DQ'ed"

Second offense could lead to one (1) year suspension after which time you may apply

to The Committee for reinstatement.   The Rules of Golf: 33-7  &  33-8.

Golf is played, for the most part, without  the supervision of a referee or an umpire.  The game relies on the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players and to abide by the rules.  This was the main reason for our meeting, we appreciate the help of our members in maintaining these principles of the game we all care so much about.
